Greg of Heritage Farm has Lamb Chops on Special this week. Bacon is available! Last week I purchased a Pork Shank. Truthfully, I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do with it — so after some research and perusing recipes, I brined it overnight and it is now roasting in the oven! The aroma is mouth-watering! Dinner tonight with Cabbage, then Bean Soup and/or Potato/Cauliflower Soup! It’s It’s perfect Soup weather!
Burnell Farms is going strong bringing us some great winter veggies! Broccoli, Brussell Sprouts, Huge heads of Savoy Cabbage, Carrots, Kale and Romaine Lettuce are all listed in their offerings this week.
Carrell Farms has delicious Water Buffalo offerings! Try some Soup Bones for wonderful Bone Broth! Add in the Ox Tail for an especially delicious treat!

Marie of Bakery on Brooks has created a Gluten-Free Pancake Mix especially for our Market! It is available on the Market this week. I am enjoying having pancakes or waffles on Sunday, then freezing the rest of the batch to enjoy later in the week!

For those of you who have been with the Market for a while, I am sure you remember the great produce we were always offered by Burnell Farms! The great news is Tammy and William will be re-joining the Market for the Winter Season. Although they do not have items listed this week; Tammy will be brining:
Romaine Lettuce
Huge heads of Savoy Cabbage
Cauliflower
Broccoli
that will be on the Farmers’ Sale Table at each Market! I suspect that these offerings will sell out very quickly, so plan on getting to Market pickup EARLY to snag what you would like!
Marie of Bakery on Brooks, our marvelous Gluten Free Baker will have offerings on the Farmers’ Sale Table including her new item – Gluten Free Pancake Mix (complete with recipe!) I know I will definitely be grabbing one of those — as I am sure Sarah will also! Don’t miss out! The Pancake Mix will be listed in Marie’s offerings on the Market menu next week!
After a stressful holiday baking time, Dabrielle and husband Bruce are heading down to Florida for some R & R and to help their daughter move! Tortillas, Pumpernickel and Challah will not be available for the next 2 weeks. If you want some, place your order this week and freeze so you have those goodies while they are gone. Their very capable Baker son, Brandon will be handling the Bakery while they are walking the beach, drinking Pina Coladas and moving daughter!

I spoke with Tammy of Peacefield Farm and they are ‘on break’ this week as they wait for Mother Nature to work her magic with the greens, lettuces, tomatoes and other goodies that are planted! The cold snap slowed things down a bit! They will be back soon!

Bakery on Brooks is back and Marie has fabulous Gluten Free offerings! Paleo Bites, perfect for an after-work-out-pick-me-up or a part of breakfast or healthy afternoon snack for the kiddos! Cookies to tempt your taste buds; soft and yummy Sandwich Bread perfect for sandwiches for Gluten Free folks! Try any of her delicious Rolls or Cornbread with your favorite soup. We are blessed to have such a wonderful Baker who makes the best Gluten Free items I have ever had!
For those of you who are not Gluten Free, My Daily Bread offers a great variety of Organic Baked Goods! Jams/Jellies/Preserves, (my favorites are the Hot Pepper Peach and Blackberry) all made from Organic ingredients! Check out the two new items Dabrielle has added! Oh the Deli Sliced Ham is delicious. I have had it on sandwiches and added to a Fritatta — FABULOUS! Heritage Farm is a Family run Farm. Greg’s wife, Lainya and their children all participate in the work and running of Farm, so their ‘by-line’ from our family to yours encompasses that truth. I will be highlighting the Farm in next week’s Newsletter and we will have Greg as Farmer of the Day soon! I am grateful Heritage Farm is part of the Heirloom Living Market Family!
